Welcome to Eatly. This Privacy Policy explains how Eatly collects, uses, stores, retains, and deletes your information.
Information We Collect
Camera Access
Eatly requires access to your device camera to scan food products, barcodes, and packaging labels so we can analyze product information and provide food ratings and nutritional insights. We do not access your camera unless you actively use the scanning feature.
Product Scan Data
When you scan a product, we may process product-related information such as:
- Barcode numbers
- Product names
- Ingredient lists
- Nutrition labels
This information is used to generate food ratings and recommendations.
Analytics
We may collect anonymous usage data to improve app performance and user experience, such as app interactions, feature usage, and crash reports. This data does not personally identify you.
How We Use Information
We use collected information to:
- Analyze scanned food products
- Generate health and nutrition ratings
- Improve app functionality and accuracy
- Monitor performance and fix bugs
Data Storage
Scanned product images are processed in real time and are not permanently stored on our servers. Product and usage data may be processed securely through third-party services to provide analysis and app functionality.
Data Retention
We retain your information only for as long as necessary to provide the app's functionality and for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy:
- Scanned product images: Processed in real time and not stored on our servers after analysis is complete.
- Product scan history (barcodes, product names, ingredients, nutrition data): Retained on your device for as long as you continue using the app, so you can review past scans. This data is deleted when you uninstall the app.
- Anonymous analytics and crash data: Processed by PostHog and retained for up to 30 days, after which it is automatically deleted.
- Account or contact information (if provided): Retained for the lifetime of your account and deleted within 30 days of an account deletion or data deletion request.
How to Delete Your Data
You can request deletion of your data at any time using either of the following methods:
- In-app deletion: Uninstalling the app will remove all locally stored scan history and app data from your device.
- Email request: Send an email to euvoa.technologies@gmail.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request." We will permanently delete all personal data associated with your account or device identifier within 30 days of receiving your request and confirm completion by email.
If you only want to delete specific data (for example, scan history) rather than all of your data, please specify this in your request.
Third-Party Services
Eatly uses third-party services to provide analytics, product database lookups, and app infrastructure. These services may process data in accordance with their own privacy policies, including:
- PostHog — product analytics and crash reporting. See https://posthog.com/privacy.
Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse.
Children's Privacy
Eatly is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your Rights
You may stop using camera permissions at any time by disabling them in your device settings. You also have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us at euvoa.technologies@gmail.com.
